Screen Brightness on Netbook & Mouse Pointer
Jan 19th 2013, 13:40

I've installed openSUSE 12.2 (i586) on an Acer Aspire One (270-28Dws) Netbook (Intel Atom N2600 1.60GHz, 1GB ram, Intel Graphics GMA HD 3650, Kernel 3.4.6-2.10-desktop i686, KDE) and am experiencing the following Problems:

1. The brightness of the screen can't be adjusted, it doesn't work with the keyboard same as it doesn't through the power management. However, the screen can be turned on and off as usual.

Remembering this from another laptop I once set up, I already tried "acpi_osi=linux" on the boot options, without effect (wrong Kernel, probably?).

2. The mouse pointer often disappears, usually when the window/widgets refresh to show content, ergo, often when hovering over menus/widgets, or when clicking it.
