Problems with wireless mouse/keyboard
Jan 22nd 2013, 19:54

I've been getting some problems with my wireless mouse and keyboard for a long time. Does anyone know how I might fix these issues?

KEYBOARD
-----------
1. Sometimes there's a big lag between typing and when it appears on screen (it's happening now, but I have 8.8GB RAM free)

2. Sometimes it will print a character 3-6 times in a row despite one press (again, while I have GB's free of RAM, and the CPU is not overtaxed - sysinfo shows the cores running below max speed sometimes but it still happens). For example, if I types "wireless" it might print out "wireeeeeless".

MOUSE
-----------
1. VERY frequently, moving the mouse will not move the cursor. This can sometimes be fixed by picking the mouse up and putting it back down and moving it very vigorously for a few seconds

What I have:
CPU: AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, Dual-core 2.7 GHZ
RAM: 11.5 GiB (8.8 GiB Free, + 974.1 MiB Caches, Free swap: 3.8 GiB)
OS: openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64)
Kernel: Linux 3.1.10-1.16-desktop x86_64
KDE: 4.8.5 (4.8.5) "release 522"
Mouse/Keyboard: Logitech Y-RBN90 Support + Downloads: Cordless Desktop Wave Pro - Logitech

The keyboard is on the desk about 3 feet from the USB receiver (with only a thin wood desktop between them), the mouse is about 4 feet away.
