Reposition Electronic Buttons for Easy Access
Jan 25th 2013, 14:00

One of the benefits of tinkering with electronics and a familiarity with soldering irons is the ability to design interfaces the way you want them. In this case, it was more a redesign: moving the tiny and difficult to access router reset button to a more accessible location.

Reset buttons on electronic devices are, purposefully we’ll admit, positioned to be difficult to accidentally hit. If, like Noah, your router is in an out of the way location and there isn’t any risk of the button being hit accidentally, it makes sense to replace the tiny you-need-a-pen-to-click-it reset switch with a really easily employed reset button. Since our router is mounted on a wall (in the corner of a utility room, no less) we’re sorely tempted to break out the soldering iron this afternoon and follow in Noah’s easy-button-reset footsteps.
